Here’s how it works…
How This Tasting Kit Transforms Your Bourbon Experience
Everyone at your party tastes 5 bourbons of your choice. They know which bourbons are included in the tasting but don’t know the order in which they’ll be distributed.
Each player tastes each bourbon, selects the notes they detect on the tasting sheet, guesses which bourbon it is on the flight sheet, then scores them from 1-5 on:
- Smell
- Taste
- Finish
Once everyone has tried each bourbon and made their guesses, the true bourbons are revealed.
Each participant gets 1 point for every correct answer and whoever has the most points wins.
(It gets real interesting when the winner gets to take the rest of the best bottle home…)
This blind tasting kit is amazing for a few reasons:
- It helps you practice detecting subtle notes because the tasting sheets contain all of the most common notes so all you have to do is circle the ones you taste
- It helps you find unbiased opinions about which bourbons are better than others since you can have as many people as you’d like try 5 bourbons and rate them (imagine helping people naturally discover that your favorite bourbon is better than theirs)
