Heaven’s Door Ascension Review: Tasting Notes
Nose – 3.5/5
Cinnamon and rye spice over a backdrop of oak, leather, caramel, licorice, and baked bread. Almost like a semi-dry raisin bread.
Palate – 3.75/5
Buttered bread, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and raisin with a touch of black pepper. Easy drinking with a watery mouthfeel but without a watered-down flavor.
Finish – 3.75/5
Buttered bread carries throughout the entire sip into the finish with touches of dried raisin, caramel, and cinnamon. Medium lengthened and more complex than anticipated.
Value – 3.5/5
I think this is a fair value at $54.99. I think $45 might be a better price, but it’s a great pour with unique notes regardless. If you like notes of cinnamon raisin bread and a classic Tennessee Whiskey flavor profile, you’ll love this one.
