Patriotic Mashbill. Rustic Characteristics.
Jeptha Creed’s Red White and Blue Bourbon returns in November 2025 with Batch 4. The mashbill itself tells a unique story: equal parts Bloody Butcher corn, heirloom white corn, and Bruce’s blue corn, each grown on the family farm, are 75% of the recipe, creating the three-color foundation that reflects the patriotic theme of the release. The remaining grain portion is 20% malted rye and 5% malted barley. Bottled at 100 proof and aged a minimum of four years, Batch 4 continues Jeptha Creed’s traditional heirloom grain selection.
This year’s edition also carries a philanthropic cause. A portion of proceeds supports Paws of War, a nonprofit that rescues shelter dogs, trains service animals for veterans and first responders, and reunites deployed military personnel with the animals they bonded with overseas. The partnership reinforces the bottle’s patriotic character by tying itself to a mission that directly serves the veteran community.
Let’s see how Batch 4 performs in the glass.
Jeptha Creed Red White and Blue Bourbon Batch 4 Review: Tasting Notes

Nose – 4.1/5
Dark berry. Rustic grain. Warm cornbread. Buttery.
Strengths: The Nose offers deep agricultural notes. Classic bourbon Nose.
Why It’s Not Higher: While it is classic bourbon Nose, the notes do not expand or improve with time in the glass.
Rating Justification: A distinct Nose that highlights the rustic nature of Bloody Butcher corn.
Palate – 3.6/5
Blueberry crumble. Earth. Grain husk.
Strengths: The Palate leans heavily into its grain notes.
Why It’s Not Higher: Pronounced earthy notes are increasingly dominant. This characteristic will be challenging for enthusiasts who prioritize clarity and deeper corn or fruit notes.
Rating Justification: While distinctive in its grain expression, the Palate’s imbalance toward its earthiness restricts its appeal and lowers its performance.
Finish – 4.1/5
Toasted grain. Blue-corn sweetness. Light herbal lift. Teaberry-like.
Strengths: The Finish transitions upward from the Palate marked by a sweet, mint-like brightness reminiscent of the classic gum, Teaberry. This contrast gives the whiskey a memorable closing.
Why It’s Not Higher: The Finish is moderate in length. Simply reinforces the existing flavor profile; does not expand it.
Rating Justification: An enjoyable Finish that provides a needed contrast from the Palate.
Value – 3.7/5
Some of the Value lies in the heirloom mashbill, on-site production, and partnership with Paws of War, which together create the identity for this release. However, the Palate negatively impacts the return on investment.
Jeptha Creed Red White and Blue Bourbon Batch 4 Review: The Verdict
Jeptha Creed Red White and Blue Bourbon Batch 4 reflects the distillery’s commitment to heirloom grain, agricultural authenticity, and maintaining an impact on veteran related missions. The Nose and Finish offer moments of genuine distinctiveness. However, the Palate’s earth-heavy imbalance limits this whiskey. A meaningful and memorable whiskey in concept—one that will appeal most to those who are looking for a truly rustic, grain-forward profile.
Verdict – 3.8/5
